On-boarding Users via Self Registration
This article outlines the Self Registration process for end users and Airship admins.
NOTE: If you do not have access to this feature, it may not be configured in your environment. For more details, please contact us.
If Self Registration is enabled, the end user will visit Self Registration web page and submit form with required account information.
Within Airship, the Admin will click on Users & Groups (1) and select Registration Requests (2) in the dropdown. Users who have filled out the registration form but are pending approval will aggregate here.
On the Registration Requests page, you will find information on the users who have requested access. To approve a user, click on the green check mark; to reject access, click on the red X. (2)
Depending on your configuration, the end user may automatically receive an email confirming or rejecting their access status.
If this setting is not configured, the Admin should manually notify approved users with instructions to reset their randomly-generated password.
Once a user has been rejected, they will populate in the Rejected Accounts page (3). You can always approve a user later on directly from this page (4).
The flow chart below outlines the steps taken by both the end user and Admin to create a new user account.
