Adding Folder and Item Thumbnail Images

Every folder or item may have a thumbnail image, which is displayed both in Airship and the apps.  Thumbnails must be a standard image file (.jpg, .png, or .gif) and should be square (600px by 600px is ideal).

NOTE:  Typically, the bottom 30% of a thumbnail is protected so that the title is displayed properly in the application.  If you would prefer to have folder or item overlays turned off in your environment (so that images can be vertically centered), please contact us and we can make the configuration change for you.

NOTE: Please visit this article on downloading thumbnail images.

Within Airshipclick on Media (1), and select Media Management (2) from the dropdown.

Navigate to the content or folder for which you'd like to manually add a thumbnail; click on the item/folder name (3) or the Edit icon (4).

Navigate to the Folder Info (or Item Info) tab (5).  To manually upload a thumbnail:

  • Drag and drop an image file to Drag a file here to update thumbnail (6) (box will turn green when file is in correct location) OR
  • Upload an image file from your computer/import an image file from a public URL (7)

Make sure to click Save (8).

After processing, the new image will display in the summary view of Airship and within the Apps.

NOTE: While the Airship admin cannot manually set the folder thumbnails for users' "My Items" folder, we can configure this for you!  Please contact us for details.
